Junior Friends
Junior Friends of the Bruggemeyer Library Club Guidelines 2007-2008
Junior Friends is a teen volunteer group at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library.
Membership
In order to become a member, you must complete the application. You can acquire an application from the Reference Desk, at one of the club meetings, or possibly from members themselves.
Meetings
Meetings are in the Friends Room upstairs in the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library every two weeks, so there are two per month.
Points
You gain a point for each hour you contribute to a Junior Friends related event including meetings. There will also be occasional opportunities to obtain points through special assignments. To obtain credit for service, you must email the president (1) which event you attended and (2) how long you were there. Send the email as a reply to the latest “Meeting Aftermath” email to make points easier to track. Points will be deducted for unexcused absences.
Note: You are in charge of keeping track of your own hours. You may use hours from Junior Friends related services for other clubs, but you are responsible for completing their hour sheets. Points are simply a way to track your level of involvement in Junior Friends.
Absences
You may be excused from meetings or an event you signed up for if you have a legitimate excuse. Just make sure you let the President know by telling her in person; email her or leaving a message on her cell phone (626) 315-5560. You must state (1) the activity you will be missing and (2) your legitimate excuse.
