Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature – Identity and Imagination
The library has received a grant from the American Library Association and Nextbook to host "Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature – Identity and Imagination," a reading and book discussion series designed to explore Jewish literature and culture.
Free Computer Class (Mandarin)
The library is teaching a three-part computer class series designed for teens and adults. The classes take place over a three-month period and are taught in four languages on Monday evenings (except for holidays) from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the computer lab on the second floor.
Family Night
The LAMP Literacy Office invites all families with at least one child under 5 years old to attend Family Night from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Friends Room. The theme for this month is “Winter Holidays.” This will be the last Family Night open to the general public.
Greeting Cards @ the Library
Sunday, December 16 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. the Junior Friends of the Library will host a special holiday craft for all ages in the Friends Room. The Junior Friends will show participants how to create and decorate colorful pop-up cards for the holidays. The program is free of charge and open to the public.
Showtime @ the Friends Room
Sunday, December 2 starting at 2:00 p.m. the Friends of the Library will present the winners of the Education and Culture Foundation of Monterey Park’s annual Oratorical Contest.
December's Movie
Saturday, December 1 from 2:00–4:00 p.m. the library will show a holiday movie to adults and teens in the Large Classroom (Room 214) on the second floor.
