On Saturday, April 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the Friends Room, the library will offer the first of the five-part career workshop series. This series will begin with Resume Writing and Presentation Skills, an introduction to today’s increasingly competitive job marketplace in a turbulent economy. The workshop will review effective resume writing and cover letter writing strategies that can improve one’s chance of capturing the attention of hiring managers.

On Sunday April 5, at 2 p.m., the Friends of the Library will present Musical Review, “Nursery Rhymes,” hosted by Cici Lau, Program Chair.

On Saturday March 21, at 3:00 p.m. in the Friends Room, the Library will hold another installment of the Irv Willner Memorial Series on Ecology and the Environment in memory of Monterey Park resident Irv Willner.

The library has received a grant from the American Library Association and NextBook to conduct two series of book discussions, co-sponsored by the Fetzer Institute.  Interested participants can sign up at the Reference Desk for the series starting in January. The sessions will be Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

On Sunday March 8, at 2:00 p.m., the Friends of the Library will present Musical Review, “Springtime Music Review,” hosted by Cici Lau, Program Chair.

On Saturday February 28, at 2:00 p.m. in the Friends Room, the library will hold another installment of the Irv Willner Memorial Series on Multiculturalism, Ecology and the Environment in memory of Monterey Park resident Irv Willner.
