Halloween Preschool Storytime and Craft Program
The Children’s Services Department will conduct a special Halloween preschool storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 28 in the Storytime Room followed by a papercraft program in the Arts & Crafts Room. Tween Program
On Tuesday, October 19 at 4:00 p.m. the Children’s Services Department will host a pre-teen scrapbooking workshop for children aged 9-12. The program is free, but the pre-registrations are required and the sign-up sheet will be available one week prior to the program. For more information, call the Children's Desk at (626) 307-1358.
Tween Program
Tuesday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m., the Children's Department launches its new pre-teen program for children aged 9-12 by conducting a full-filled "Make Your Own Disk-Notepad" craft activity. During this 45 minutes program, staff will show children how to make a unique notepad with floppy diskettes. Children's Mexican Independence Day Program
To honor Mexican Independence Day, the Children’s Services Department will conduct Mexican "papel picado" craft/game with Latino music for children and their parents on Wednesday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m.

Summer Reading Program Certificate Party
The Children's Services Department has invited jugger David Cousin to perform at its Summer Reading Program Certificate Party on Thursday, August 19 at 3:00 pm at Langley Center, 4
00 W. Emerson Ave. The program is to celebrate the achivements of the summer reading club readers who finished reading ten or more books and received a "Make A Splash--Read" reading certificate during the six-week summer reading program. Light refreshments will be provided.

California Missions Resource Center is a comprehensive online resource for historical information on the twenty-one California Missions. The website contains important key facts, images, historic drawings, slide-shows, architectural drawings of the churches, an illustrated description and history of Native Californians and other reference materials for each mission. A unique feature of the site is its "Ask the Expert" section which contains answers to specific questions and allows students to submit their own questions.
