African-American Drums and Culture

On Saturday February 28, at 2:00 p.m. in the Friends Room, the library will hold another installment of the Irv Willner Memorial Series on Multiculturalism, Ecology and the Environment in memory of Monterey Park resident Irv Willner. This program will be African-American Drums, Percussion and Culture, featuring Marcus L. Miller.  Marcus works in music, television, film, and education. Marcus has an educational workshop series that he performs in schools, libraries, and museums. He is the director of a youth percussion ensemble, the Young Drummers of Los Angeles. Marcus endorses Remo heads and drums, Regal Tip sticks, Istanbul cymbals, EV mics, and Rhythm Tech Percussion.
