Twenty-nine interested artists submitted their qualifications to do the mural above the west entrance of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, 318 S. Ramona Avenue, Monterey Park by the November 15, 2007 deadline. The Art Acceptance Committee of the Library Board of the Monterey Park Library chose eight to have the artists submit a proposal. The Art Acceptance Committee is evaluating these eight and looking at public input from the June 21st community meeting at East Lost Angeles College, comments from the mural sheets at the library and comments from the blog. The Committee will be meeting in August and making a recommendation to the Library Board, who will make the final decision. The Library Board will consider the recommendations at their Tuesday, August 19th 7:00 P.M. meeting in the City Librarian's Office at the Monterey Park Library, 318 S. Ramona Avenue, Monterey Park.  The public is encouraged to attend this meeting and to provide input.
